Christianity

Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah whose coming was predicted by the Jewish prophets and the Son of God. Jesus taught that matters of the soul are more important than worldly matters, and that it is better to seek the praise of God than that of man. Jesus also taught that it is righteous to suffer for his sakke and for the sake of God's name. Two of the Christian virtues stressed most by Jesus, though, are love and forgiveness. Jesus came and gave his life on the cross because he loved humanity, and so that humanity would be forgiven its sins. Thus, although living virtuously is important, Christ taught, any who accept the forgiveness he offered by giving his life may be saved and may enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
