I am a 19 year old male from Wales..
When I was 16 came fourth in the National 100m youth cup with a time of 11.01 seconds. I must say that I was very disappointed to not break the 11 second barrier.... Ok! so you want to improve your sprinting .. I will tell you what i used to do.. I've always been quick, but it was karate that made me a county champion and national youth representative. ever since i joined i found that my reactions, especially explovsive ranges of movement, i.e. like sprinting.. it's all to do with twitch fibres.. I'm not telling to join a karate club, perhaps you need something with training in flexability.. when i was training the coach wanted me to run with the longest stride at the fastest rate, obviously this was impossible as the shorter you stride to maintain speed the faster the stride.. he used to tell me to do sets of long then short strides to get a balance of explosive power. all this added up made me into quite a sprinter. at the moment i play rugby for the local team on the wing where my speed is appreciated. I hope i have been a help to you... Mike
