Let me just say one thing first. There is no easy ladder to success. Hard work, in any aspect of your life is what it takes. As one famous person put it, "1% inspiration and 99% perspiration."
In summation, you must be willing to eat a healthy non-processed diet, exercise aerobically, and do weight training and strectching excercises, and I feel most importantly, get into the habit of exercising your spiritual mind as well, (as this may entail reading the bible regularly for support.) Oh, don't forget the many external influences that can just as well hurt you such as smoking, pollution, and other bad habits.
All in all, it takes hard work, and most of all consistency in all that you do. It does not mean that you are to spend many hours daily, but what ever your program, do it regularly. That is the key to success.
