Hi...
My Dad is 78 and had a stroke 8 months ago. Also, he has been blind for the past 20 yrs. He has some residual left side weakness. The problem is that he is in a nursing home and gets no therapy. So he gets no exercise. He can not walk by himself so he only walks when my Mom visits and that may mean only one very short walk a day. He uses a walker. My question is...I have been looking at this piece of equipment called a pedlar...it is a little stationary bike that can be used while sitting in a chair. I am wondering if this would provide any benefit to my Dad. He could keep it beside him and use it whenever he wanted to...rather than rely on someone else having to set it or him up. They only cost about $55...what do you think? He needs to exercise...he has had one blood clot and the Dr. says he should walk more but there is no way we can get the nursing home staff to provide him the assistance and we do not have the funds to hire anyone. Thank you for any advice you can provide.
