This coming from a big time amateur, you are on the right track as far as losing weight and keeping it off, as well as toning your muscles goes. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but a friend told me of the cabbage soup diet which is what many heart surgery patients have to go on in order to lose weight...she said that it works wonders and you can eat as much of it as you want cuz there's a chemical reaction of the sorts that causes you to lose weight...I'm not really too sure as to what that recipe is and the likes...will check around to find that recipe.
Also, have you spoken with your doctor as far as your plans for losing weight goes? Doctors are great folk who usually will have good plans as far as weight loss and the likes goes. Do ask!
