: : I used to be a smoker but have now quit. I am 24 yrs old and smoked in high school.
: : I have always been in pretty good shape. I was wandering how long it will take for me
: : to recover from this smoke I used to inhale. Can I ever get into the shape of a person
: : that has never smoked.
: Unfortunately, tar effects your lungs permanently. This does not mean you can not attain
: a reasonable (or even excellent) fitness level. I would say that if you excercise properly,
: you should be able to get in to shape at almost the same rate as a person who hasn't smoked,
: providing that you are no longer smoking.
Re:smoker
The previous information is false. Less than one hour after you stop smoking your lungs and heart begin a self-treatment process which continues untikl you are almost as free from the grime in your lungs and bloodstream as someone who has never smoked. You should read some pamphlets or health books that discuss the subject. The previous information is misleading and allows you to beleove that even after one cigarette the damage is irreversible leading some p[eople to continue smoking because Hey the damage is done right? Please know all the information its never too late, your body has amazing healing powers.
