Cross-country problem

I'm a high school freshman who runs cross-country
for his school, about 5 miles a day practice or
3.1 competition distance. However, I have a slight
problem with my stride. I often unintentionally shift
into a stride where my feet scuff the ground, which
really slows me down and takes from my energy. Any
suggestions on fixing this?
