losing weight

I weigh about 125 lbs, have been watching my caloric and fat intake very carefully, have been exercising 30 minutes a day for one month, and have only lost 2-3 lbs. Why has the weight loss been so minimal? What can I expect in future months. Thank you, Barbara Resnick
