Designing the mission

The following page allows our users to test different mission designs by combining any of the utilized methods with all the different types of available propulsion.

After selecting the type of propulsion in each of the listboxes, clicking on the botton below will produce a list of all the different masses of the stages involved in the mission. These masses are estimated from the masses of the NASA/Boeing 90 day study, and so can only be used as a first approach in order to assess the impact of the different methods and propulsive systems chosen for each stage on the overall masses. Once our own masses are determined from the integration of the various subsystems (including artificial gravity), the same algorithm can be used to calculate the design mass for our mission.
