Creating an account

To post messages to these boards, you must create an account. At the entrance of the discussion group, click on "Register an account" and you will be sent to the account registration form. Below are the fields you will need to fill out and a description of each:

Username: The name you will use to log into these boards. This can also be used as your posting name when you post a message.

Password: The password you will use to log in under your account to this area. Keep this password in a safe area and do not reveal it to anyone.

Alias 1-5: These fields allow you to create posting names. These names can be used to Identify yourself when posting messages. This information is optional.

E-Mail: Your E-Mail address. If you do not have an E-Mail address, type none in this field.

Archive: An archive is a way for users to save messages even if they are lost from the board. (All messages are deleted after 30 days on the board). By clicking on yes, an archive will be created for you.

Remember, all information you type in is case sensitive! This means that when you log in, you must type your password and username with the same capital and lower case letters that you used here.

Using an archive

An archive is used to save messages before they are deleted from this area. Messages are deleted from the main discussion area after 30 days of their posting.

Once you log in under your account, you will be given the options of viewing the board, viewing an archive, or editing your archive. You must post a new message in the board area to add it to your archive. You will have the option of adding this to archive when you post it.

You can edit your archive by clicking on "Edit your archive." This option allows you to delete messages that are currently in your archive.

To view your archive or another user's archive, click on "View an archive." Type in the name of the user whose archive you wish to view. This will show you all messages that the user has posted and saved to his/her archive.

Which browsers will work in this area?

Do I have to pay anything to create an account here?

No. All uses of the discussion area are free.

I lost my password, is there any way to get it back?

Sorry, there is no way to get a password from an account. You will have to create another account if you lose a password for one account.

Why do I keep on getting the error, "Illegal User Name?"

This means that you typed in your username wrong. The most common reason is that you did not type it in as you did when you signed up. User Names are case sensitive meaning that if you do not type it with the same capitilization as the first time you entered it, it will not work.

Guidelines for using this discussion area

Any article posted to this area which has anything from the list above in it will be removed from the discussion area. Also, the user that posted the article will have his/her account removed.
