Welcome to dunes of the past. This is an educational web page about the region once known as Mesopotamia in present day middle east. Meaning "between the rivers" in Greek, it is one of the earliest centre of urban civilisation in the world. The name was derived from the fact that part of it was situated in between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. This web page strives to provide information in an accurate and interesting manner especially to High School students.
