The project aims to raise awareness among youths from developed countries of the world, and at the same time provide assistance and platforms for the youths to contribute to fighting World Hunger in more innovative and cost-efficient ways. The project aims to get youths to gain awareness and understanding of world hunger, and thereafter motivating them to take action to alleviate world hunger. Firstly, facts and shocking statistics about world hunger will be posted on social networking sites. Given the recent popularity of these social networking sites, this would most likely help in spreading the word and getting youths to become aware of this issue of world hunger. Visiting the entry, they would understand world hunger, seeing details such as the causes, impacts or history. Thereafter, those who are motivated to take action would be prompted to do so, either as an individual or collectively form a group with like-minded people and plan initiatives together, as a long term approach. A range of resources will be used. Internet sources, primary research and of course, books and literatures are referenced and utilized. Students should be more aware of social issues and current affairs around them and be more concerned in helping out in humanitarian causes even after the project. Students are expected to pick up communication and critical thinking skills along the way as they carry out the project. In the project, the students will apply creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through social media and even face-to-face interactions, the students will equip themselves with the necessary communication and collaboration skills. Utilizing technology in the project, students are effectively using information and communications technology skills. Lastly, as the students start to care about their society, personal and social responsibility skills come into place. This project will be an innovative way for youths to start to help in World Hunger. Not only local communities, the entire world will be influenced as a whole step-by-step to start a movement to change the world for the better.
