2.Never Punish or Ridicule a Child for being Afraid. When Children know Parents accept their Fears as Genuine, they are more likely to believe their Reassurances.
-
3.Do not force a Youngster to deny or hide FearThere are many ways parents can enable a youngster to overcome fears. Often just giving information is effective. “When my six-year-old was terrified of bees,” one father says, “I explained how they worked hard to help fruits and flowers grow, and that if she left the bees alone, they would be too busy to bother her.” Another man helped his child overcome his fear of thunder: “He was too young to understand about air masses colliding, but I explained how to count the seconds between the lightning and flash and thunder so he would know ‘how far away’ the noise was.” Obviously facts won’t dispel fears until a child old enough to respond to logical reasoning. But children of all ages feel more secure with a rational explanation when they do not yet fully understand it. Because children pattern themselves on their parents, modelling is another important technique.

4.Look at a Child’s Fear from his Perspective, not your 'Grown Up' one“A ghost or bogeyman often represents a real fear that the child cannot handle.” “But it doesn’t help to tell a youngster there are no such things. They are quite real to the child. You can look under the bed and ‘prove’ there’s no one there, and still be told ‘It doesn’t come out until after you leave!”
-
5.Prepare a Child for any Major change that will affect his or her LifeTreat anxiety about change with respect so the youngster feels he has a right to feel distressed.
-
6.Be watchful for signs of Emotional StressParents should always keep a watchful eye on the kids to know whether there are any substantial change in their behavioural pattern, so that a helping hand can be extended to them to take care of their Emotional Stress.
-
7.Avoid Lectures. It is not helpful to ridicule, ignore, or use logic. Think back to your own childhood. How often did you hear phrases like: "There is no such thing as a monster," "Don't be such a baby," "There are no lions or bears for miles and miles from here," or "Pet the nice doggie, he won't hurt you." Did statements such as these really make you feel any better?
Scolding - Fear
|
| Many times Kids do mistakes Unknowingly. Make the Child understand their mistakes in a Convincing Manner. This helps the Child not to repeat the mistakes. But Scolding the Child for everything brings in him a sort of Fear. Slowly this Fear occupies the Child's mind and grows into a Monster and develops in him many unwanted qualities like Hiding Facts, Stubbornness, Irritation, Disrespectful, In-humanness etc. |

Mr. "WHAT IF" Vs Mr. "WHAT ELSE"
|
| "What If" always brings Worry. 'What if this Happens' or 'What if that Happens', types of 'Thinking' brings Fear in us. Alternatively if we make "Mr. What Else" as our Friend, he will give us Confidence to think in different manners and thus we can overcome the Fear in us. |
