I have a fear of infection, actually when I was six years old I got congectivities from my classmate and in the same year I got viral fever twice again when my friend was not well in the class. After that I got so much fear of infections that even if any body sneezes I run away. I avoid going in birthday parties as people shake hands and share the cake. I am scared of going to public places also. Infaction is very scary.

When I was around 5 years I was always threatened that if I do not do my home work, drink milk or eat food properly cockroaches will come on my bed and bite me. From that time onwards if I see any brown creature I would get scared. Slowly cockroaches were in my mind and I could not sleep well. Always I feel that cockroaches are roaming around me.To remove my fear my parents started saying that cockroaches are very small and can be removed by just a small spray of insecticides. One day I tried my self and cockroach was running fast when I threw a stick near him. Than I realise that it was my belief that cockroaches are dangerous.

When I was 8 years old and I was extremly scare of dark. The shadows of a nearby tree comes in my bedroom. With the breeze curtains in my room flutter. Once I saw a movie of ghost where ghost comes in the night and curtains flutter along with air. This all horrifies me and keeps me awake. I told this to my parents. They said there is nothing like this. I also have a yonger brother who was 6 years at that time. He has no fear at all of anything. One day my parents told me to go alongwith him and he took me outside in the night and should me the shadow of the tree and also showed how air comes in the room. Then my parents told how ghost movies are created using animations. After that I realise there was only a shadow and nothing to worry about.

Once i remember, i had watched a REALLY scary movie; it's called "The exorcist"... The dine/witch in the movie, was i suppose something my mind couldn't EVER forget...Most of the people around me didn't find it scary but i , myself, did not know why my mind found it really scary.. i would often be scolded by my parents and some other elders for my really silly fear, or rather a 'phobia'! I had to face insomnia, go through hallucinations and i could just NOT go in the dark... My siblings, being small at that time just like my myself, took it as fun and laughed and scared me more, which often resulted in "me-in-tears" situation. Once i got about 11, i knew the fear HAD to be finished and something to let go of...but the problem was how? Although i was just a little kid, i figured out that 'the more you expose yourself to your fear, the more its intensity decreases'. So, instead of waiting for a Messiah to cure my disease, i started sleeping in a dark and locked room, although i would face BAD, or should i say, really bad hallucinations, i would start praying and Somehow sleep.. most of the time it resulted in high fever and headaches in the morning..but eventually, i shook my fear off my shoulders! Now i am big enough to watch movies, and haunted movies, but i don't...because i just can't stand to go through the same...it has become a dark speck in my memory, the dark and locked room , is like a dark room in my blurred memory... But now i surely know the cure of this disease...and i can UNDOUBTEDLY understand and help another child going through the same..:)

SNAKE IN HAND AND A SMILE ON FACE?
Though Snakes are Fearful Reptiles, some Knowledge about them will definitely help us to come out of our fear. We will be able to differentiate Poisoness and Non-poisoness Snakes and accordingly take care of ourselves, without any Fear.

By reeducating the mind we can learn how to cope with fear and treat it as a normal fact and not as a paralyzing obstacle.

if you want to overcome a certain fear, the first thing you should do is ask tourself some questions like why does this situation makes me feel this way or what about this situation frightens me. Afterwards you should create a worst case scenario and then ask yourself what would happen to me if it would become real. This way you may realize that whatever happens there are ways to deal with the situation, with your fear.

Does Fear help to get good marks in Exams?
We often hear people telling the Students that if they had even little fear about scoring less marks and be shamed, they would have prepared well for the Exam. Is it true that a Student's performance in Exams can be compared with the fear that he has for score? Express your views here.
Fear never helps anyone get good marks. On the contrary it worsens the situation. So we should try to find the root cause of it and remove it from the root to fare well.

I don't think fear helps a person to score well.but because of fear of getting less mark,we practice well, then we will be able to get good marks.

CRUNCH CORNER _Think and be Fearless-A Story
The Jackal and the Drum
A hungry jackal went into a jungle in search of food. He walked a long way, but found nothing. As he was going further, suddenly he heard a loud noise. He was afraid; he did not know what to do.
He went back a few steps. He asked himself, “Is there an enemy here?”
He stood quite still for a long time and listened. As he was going to take a step further he heard the noise again. It was louder than even the earlier noise. Jackal’s fear was even greater now.
But he was a clever jackal. He went slowly towards the noise. Some man had earlier had a fight in the forest and they had left a drum under the branch of a big tree. The branch was broken and it moved when the wind blew. When it moved it beat the drum and made a loud noise.
The Jackal saw this, he was not afraid now. He came to know the cause of the noise. There was nothing to be afraid of. What do you think the Jackal would have said?
The jackal said....”How foolish I have been! I thought there was an enemy in the jungle that was playing the drum.”
