Fear in Children - Online/School Survey

  • THE SURVEY WAS TAKEN IN THE SCHOOL AND ALSO 'ONLINE' USING "SURVEY MONKEY."

  • Survey - Preparation

    This Survey was prepared by the Team to study about the "Different Types of 'Fear' found in Children, around the World, and the methods adopted by them to overcome their Fear. While preparing the Questionnaire for the Survey, factors like Age, Gender, Siblings etc. were taken into consideration. In the Survey Form, there were nine multiple choice Questions and one narrative Question.

  • Survey - Statistics

    Young children, numbering more than hundred, between the age group of Five to Fifteen years, across 24 Countries and 6 Continents, participated enthusiastically in our Survey. 45% of them were Boys and 55% percent of them were Girls. Sixty per cent of the Children were from the age group - 6 to 12 years.

  • Survey - Results

    Results of the Survey showed that majority of the Children were fearful of Darkness, Insects, Loneliness, Scolding, Stage, Height and Examination.

    Individually the Team Members, in their Schools, made a Survey about Fear in Children of different age groups.

Kids around the World Participated in the Online Survey

The Survey was prepared by our Team to study about the "Different Types of Fear" found in Children.

Young Children across 24 Countries and 6 Continents participated enthusiastically in our Survey. 45% of them were boys and 55% percent of them were girls. 60% of kids were between the ages of 6 to 12 years.

Comparison of Fear in Boys and Girls.

In the Survey, 45% of Boys and 55% percent of Girls participated.

- Boys are more scared of Darkness, Height, Stage, Exam, Dogs and Fire, as compared to Girls.

- Girls are more scared of Insects, Loneliness and Snakes, as compared to Boys.

  • These results are from different categories which gained maximum percentage.
  • Stage Fear

    From the Survey, it is found that 61% of Participants have Stage Fear, though they enjoy the Stage Activities.

  • Exam Fear

    Most of the Children participated in the Survey enjoy Studies, but amongst them 57% of the kids have Fear for Examination

  • Loneliness Fear

    61% of the kids have Fear of Loneliness.

  • Fear for Snakes and Insects

    85% of the Participants were scared of Snakes. 71% children were scared of Insects.

  • Fear of Scolding

    64% have Fear of scolding. Out of this, many Fear for the scoldings by Teachers and Parents.

  • Fear of Height

    59% Children have Fear of Height

  • Fear of Darkness

    70% Children have Fear of Darkness

  • In the School Survey, it was observed that the Children expressed fear for Teasing, Bullying by their Friends and Scolding by Teachers and Parents
