Contamination: Not the only worry!
We realised that the water problem doesn't end at metal concentration and the harm it causes. Collateral damage is caused to several areas of the economy environment due to poor quality of water. We address some of them on this page.
Introduction
In a world where 783 million people
live without access to safe water, around 11% of the world's population, and where
one child dies every 20 seconds
from water-related diseases, an
entirely preventable public health crisis has killed more people than war
. Even the ancient Romans had better water quality than half the population of the world today.
The cause of water contamination, you might ask?
The sleek operations of Doctor Chemicals, the mastermind behind an empire built on the discharge of sewage from factories, urban centres and towns aided by detergents and other harmful chemicals into water. He is assisted in all of this by his right hand man Professor Pathogens, who controls armies of specialised bacteria and viruses to pollute the water.
Though found more extensively in the developing world, their terror prevails across most countries depicted colourfully on your average globe. And not just the rural disconnected areas, but the urban population too, even with its higher standard of living.
Six students from different schools of New Delhi, India have read the statistics, discussed the issue and tested solutions to get rid of Dr. Chemicals and Prof. Pathogens, even developing some of their own in the process.
We, bring to you, our take on the issue that’s sucking the life out of us, quite literally.
