Why did We do This 1st Forum?
We understand that as teenagers we sometimes need concrete examples of what is happening in our country to help us think. For this reason we chose two cases in which the victims and the attackers were young adults. This way we would help our partners raise awareness

Entendemos que como jóvenes a veces necesitamos ejemplos concretos de lo que sucede en nuestro país para hacernos reflexionar. Por esta razón escogimos dos casos en los cuales las víctimas y los agresores fueron jóvenes. De esta manera ayudaríamos a nuestros compañeros a crear conciencia.

Speaking with Mrs. Gloria Morales
During our meeting with Lic. Gloria Morales we had the opportunity to learn and think. This meeting was excellent, poignant, interesting and informative. Students and teachers were very interested during the meeting and presented their views by writing them on the Thinkquest.org (used as a backchannel) platform. It was a good discussion because everyone had the opportunity to participate by asking questions. Our school also took part students from the 9th, 10th, and 11th grade were there with their teachers. In our effort to unite and take our message to more people we decided to transmit the case through a channel on the Internet.

Durante el conversatorio con la Licenciada en Consejería Gloria Morales pudimos aprender y reflexionar. Entedemos que este conversatorio estuvo excelente, conmovedor, interesante e informativo. Los estudiantes y maestros se mostraron muy interesados durante el mismo y expusieron sus puntos de vista escribiéndolos en la plataforma de Thinkquest.org (se utilizó como backchannel). Fue una buena dinámica porque todos tuvieron la oportunidad de participar haciendo preguntas. De nuestra escuela participaron estudiantes de 9no, 10mo, 11mo y maestros. En nuestro afán de unir y llevar nuestro mensaje a más jóvenes y familias decidimos transmitir el conversatorio a través de un canal en Internet.

Diego's case/ Caso de Diego
It’s very difficult to avoid because they did not expect it. It was his birthday and they were enjoying it and they did not plan that this would happen. (Spanish Version) Muy difícil de poderlo evitar ya que ellos no contaban con eso. Era su cumpleaños y estaban disfrutando y no planeaban que eso sucediera.

Francheska's case/ Caso de Francheska
Perhaps it could have been avoided if she, from the start, had denounced or left this person alone. Since the beginning of the relationship, they showed violent signals and could have run off from there. (Spanish Version) Quizás si se pudiera haber evitado si ella desde un principio hubiera denunciado o dejado a esta persona y se hubiera alejado lo mas posible de el. Desde principios de la relación, el mostraba señales violentas y pudo haberlo cortado desde ahí.
What do We Admire About Diego and Francheska?
We admire both of them, although they lived through difficult moments and all full of pain, they overcame. Francheska continues struggling to recover and agreed to discuss the issue. Diego turns this misfortune into something positive when he speaks to young people to help raise awareness. In this way both contribute to bring a message of overcoming obstacles, forgiveness, and hope to our island.
¿Qué Admiramos de Diego y Franchesca? (Spanish Version)
Admiramos que ambos aunque pasaron momentos bien difíciles y llenos de mucho dolor, se lograron sobreponer a la adversidad. Franchesca continúa luchando para recuperarse y acepta hablar del tema. Por su parte, Diego convierte esta desgracia en algo positivo cuando le habla a jóvenes para ayudarlos a crear conciencia. De esta manera ambos aportan para llevar un mensaje de superación, de perdón y de esperanza a nuestra Isla.
