About our project

The idea for our project “Change your habits - save energy” derives exactly from the problem that exists in our school with irrational use of electricity. The reasons are:

• There aren’t made some instructions for the students from which they will learn more about the energy, its importance in our environment and more about the methods for saving energy.
• The students originate from families with different social structure and with different points of view for saving energy.
• There are not enough anticipated subjects in the curriculum connected with saving energy for the students.   

That’s why we decided the purpose of our project “Change your habits - save energy” to be developing the students’ awareness for energetic efficiency and protection of the environment with the teachers’ and families members’ support.

Our knowledge about beyond measure wasting energy in our school has confirmed the school principle too and the idea for our project was positively accepted on his part.

The ThinkQuest Team : Has the school taken any activities for saving energy?

The principle : There haven't been any activities for saving energy so far. But the big waste of the energy and its price for us as a school has become a huge problem. On the other hand the constant destruction of the environment has become an actual problem around the world. Therefore it’s time to take measures for saving energy.

The ThinkQuest Team : Do you as a principle of this school plan to make some changes in the utilization of renewable sources of energy?

The principle : I am well informed about the use of renewable energy sources, but as school we can’t afford to carry such large changes. Our state has plans for greater use of renewable sources, and we hope that our school will be updated with these changes.

The ThinkQuest Team :  What do you think about our idea, to take some activities for raising the awareness among students and other employees at the school in order to save energy?

The principle : The idea is great, especially because its coming from students and its designed for students. Its good to include the parents and the local community in your activities so that they will affect the students from different sides and the students will become aware that conserving energy is important in various spheres of our life.
