Section 2: Change of Base Examples | Exercises

Objective:
To learn the change of base property of logarithms and to understand hoe it makes logarithms easier to solve.

A property called the Change-of-base is:

logbn = logan / logab
a = natural log,
b = the base,
n = what bp equals.

With this equation you can solve for p. By taking the log28 you can solve for p = log8 / log2, and p = 3.

You can do the following problems online. To do this you must either write down the problem you are doing and go to the programs page and select Logbase to enter your problem or you can click on this link Logbase Program,-{if using Microsoft Internet Explorer it would be best to open the previous link in a separate window and then tile both these windows together}-, and move the frame spacer to the left to provide more room for the program. When you are done please click this link to return to the V.I.Trigonometry. Thank you, and Enjoy.
