Summer Reymont's estate - Kolaczkowo
It is a
country side village, near Kielce. Th ere is a little eclectic
palace, build in 1895, surrounded by a park. The vilage and the
possesion were bought with the pu blic funds. In 1900 it was
granted to Henryk Sienkiewicz to C elebrate 25 years of his
writing.In 1958 the bilding of the p alace became a museum of
HenrykmSienkiewicz's lifes and arts. 2. Museum "quo
vadis?" in Capri island. Popularity and good fa me incited
Jan Styka, a well known polish painter to make ser les of
pictures for the book and to create a series of large painting
The painter him self established a museum called Quo vadis"
in Capri island. It housed some 100 pictures, 20 p aimtings, of
whoch 10 wrer biqer 6 meters long and 4 meters h igh. Styka's
death in 1925 did not mean the end of the museum in 1929 it was
to be brought over tp Poland, but a was not enaugh founds to put
into practice. 3. Sienkiewicz Association was set up in
1896.Dunn the 5 ye ars of
its activity it organised 10 important konferences, ou t of which
6 international level. It atrtracted many recognis ed scientysts
and uncountable lovers og Sienkiewicz's writing It is still
active now a days; Even 150 years after the wri tre's death there
are numerous obscre points in his novels. I t excites the
critics. 4. Sienkiewicz '5 room in Smiel6w. S'miel6w - settlement
near K alisz. There is a classicistic palace with galeries dating
ba ck to 1797, and wallpainting of 1800. There are some farming
buildings and a park near by. Now it is Adam Mickiewicz 'S mus
eum with only one room devoted to Henryk Sienkiewicz. He stad ed
in it after his visit to nearby Miloslaw.
There was private Sienkiewicz's study
room in which famous writer used to create his late works. Now
there are in this room a great number of old edition his works
and his own little library. The desk on photograph belonged to
Sienkiewicz.

In the year 1924 after bringing bach the ashes of
Sienkiewicz to Poland, a project of making a commemorating hill.
In Wola Okrzejska, the place of his birth, was started. The hill
was compleated in the year 1933. At that time people started to
think about building the writers museum , but the plans were
changed because of the Second World War. Finally the museum was
opened on 2nd October 1966 in the 120th anniversary of the
writers birth. The museum's collection contains valuable
souvenirs, writer's diary, unique publications of his work.
This is the place in which Wislawa Szymborska was born in 1923. Kornik is situated near Poznan.

This is the place when in 1884 Reymont at the Warsaw-Vienna Railway worked. This place was of service like the prototype for Lipce in his the most famous novel "The Peasants".

In 1925 W.St.Reymont bought little estate near Wrzesnia. He used to spend there his wacation.
