Zakopane

Zakopane a resort which is situated in Tatra Mountains. In XIX century Tytus Chalubinski discovered a wholesome properities of this place. Every since it became the place of the sociable meetings. It is called “a summer capital of Poland”. Sienkiewicz was used to spend holidays here. Reymont was here on healthy cure ( in 1900 ). Szymborska is used to be at leasure in Zakopane for she chaimed that peaceful of this town is suitable for her ‘job’.

 

Cracow

In VIII century Cracow was a capital of Wislanie tribe. In 1704 year Kazimierz Odnowiciel - the King of Poland, transfered capital of his country from Gniezno to Cracow. Cracow was a capital of Poland during six centuries. The bigest development ( both cultural and political ) we can observe in 15th and 16th century. And just from this epoch origin the most marvelous monuments of Cracow. Town always was very significant centre of Polish culture - the situation still is the same.

Szymborska is Crocow’s inhabitant since 1931. She is a part of Cracow’s cultural stage.

Czeslaw Milosz lived in Cracow after falling down of uprising in Warsaw ( in 1944 year ).

 

Warsaw

The settlement was founded in XIII/XIV century. It is situated at the banks of Wistula. During the years Warsaw came into prominence. On XVI/XVII century Warsaw became a capital. In XIXth century the city came to life (look at postcard below). It was the center of the surrounding Second World War - in 1944 - broke out the abrasing in Warsaw, which was aimed against Germany invader. Milosz survived abrasing. He lived ther from 37-44. Other Polish noblist visted this place too. Majority of Sienkiewicz’s life, spend he in Warsaw. Raymont lived there in 1880-84 years and after from 1913-18.
