fielder's choice

Fielder's choice occurs when the fielder decides to throw to a base
other than first in order to put out a preceding runner.
Fielder's choice is also used by scorer's to describe:
a batter runner who takes one or more extra bases when the
fielder handling his hit attempts to put out a preceding runner
a runner who advances (other than by stolen base or error) while a fielder is
attempting to put out another runner
a runner who steals a base only because the other team
is indifferent to the steal and takes not action to stop it (undefended steal)
