Description: In most species of starfish the bodyparts are arranged in groups of five. The come in many different colors. The bodies of starfish are made of soft tissue. On the underside of thier bodies, there are many tiny suction cups, which the starfish uses for movement.
What it eats: Some starfish feed on microscopic organisms, but most are predators who eat worms and mullusks. Other common starfish feed on oysters and mussels. Even though these animals seem to have a hard shell protecting them, starfish are able to get through the shells. Starfish are able to smell their prey and move towards it.
Where it lives: Starfish can usually be found in sea water, on the sea bed.
