Bookmarking, Saving, and Printing

Bookmarking

Bookmarks are probably the best feature of an Internet browser. They store the location of a web page so you can go back to it later. Almost every browser has built-in support for bookmarks. If your browser doesn't, it's probably time to replace it. Below is the list of steps to bookmark a web page. You probably won't need to print these out for future reference.
  1. Go to the page you want to bookmark
  2. In your browser, look for a menu that says Favorites, Bookmarks, or Hotlist. If you can't find one of these, look for them within the menus. In Netscape Communicator, Bookmarks have their own toolbar button, and can also be found in the Communicator menu.
  3. Select Add to create a bookmark for that site!

Saving

Let's say you're looking for a story on the Web. You've found the perfect story, and you want to save it onto disk. How do you do it? Here are the simple steps to save a Web document to disk (does not include graphics):
  1. Go to the page you want to save
  2. In your browser, activate the File menu and select Save As... (in some browsers this may be Save)
  3. Enter a name for the file and click OK or Save (whichever your browser shows)

Printing

Okay. What do you want to do now? "Print a document," you say? Well, that's really easy to do too! Here's how:
  1. Go to the page you want to print
  2. In your browser, activate the File menu and select Print
  3. Click Print or OK (whichever your browser has)

Well, that all was pretty harmless. Now let's take a look at the Go menu, on the next page.
