Introduction

During the past few years, the Internet has become a major part of our everyday lives. With it, you can E-Mail people all over the world, download computer software, do research on an unlimited number of topics, see pictures and hear sounds and music, and much, much, MUCH more! Every day, more information becomes part of the Internet. Eventually, many everyday things in life will be integrated with the Internet. One example of this is WebTV, from Philips-Magnavox. The WebTV is an Internet/television combination. You can watch TV and surf the Net from the same unit. In the future, TV signals will come directly from the Internet. Radio is now available from the Internet, and you can receive these signals from anywhere in the world, not just from a location near the station.

This section deals with what can be done on the Internet, and what exactly it is. It will give you a better understanding of what is on the screen in front of you right now.
