Shortcuts to Disabilities
ABOUT THIS SITE
- ·Accessibility Issues
- 95% of this site is Bobby Approved. There are a few pages with various types of multi-media simulations that are neccessary to meet the educational goals of this site, which are not accessible. The main GOAL of this site concept is to educate and increase understanding, tolerance of differences and understanding by others, by allowing visitors to experience (as best as we can on the Internet) a few of the challenges that kids with disAbilities face during a typical school day- through these simulations. We hope that we have made the site as accessible as possible while still maintaining the goal and essence of this concept. In addition, we ask your understanding and forgiveness for this departure from our principles. This site was designed, constructed and coached by 100% People (Kids and adults) with various disAbilities themselves. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to contact us at the below email address. We welcome ideas, as that is what this site is all about- education and collaboration......
- ·Media:
- Audio:
Where-ever audio is linked, you will see an icon of the microphone crayon drawing or ALT TAG describing the content, how large the audio file is and an approximate waiting time. We will be adding text descriptions in the months to come. We appreciate your patience! The kids have done an incredible job and will work until all media is accessible to everyone!
- Video:
When video is added to the site over the next few months, you will see it indicated by an icon camcorder crayon drawing or read the pertinent information in the ALT TAG. We are working to add close-captioning and/or text version of all video for accessibility by all!

- ·Browser:
- Please view with Internet Explorer 3.0 or better (Link to Microsoft's Homepage at Icon of IE Logo below if you need to download). It is difficult enough for kids to construct a web site, without getting in the middle of a browser war and their proprietary tags! Thus, if viewed in Netscape, some simulations, graphics and formatting will not be visible or viewed as intended. Thanks again for your patience and support for the kids!
