This tesselation system consists of interlocking rhombi, each of which contains the entire serpent shaped motif. The motif has been translated (shifted) horizontally. The motif was then rotated 180 degrees about the centers of 2 of its sides. Furthermore, the motif was glide-reflected both vertically and in one direction diagonally. Glide-reflection is the process of translating an object and then reflecting (flipping) it over the line it followed while being translated.
