This tesselation system consists of interlocking parallelograms, each of which contains the entire lizard shaped motif. To fill the plane, the motif has been translated (or slid) diagonally in one direction, as if it were on rails. The motif was then rotated 180 degrees about one if its vertices (corners) to produce the other columns of lizards.
