Viewer Instructions

The Viewer allows you to view any structure on the server in three-dimensions. We think that you'll find the controls for the Viewer quite self-explanatory. You use the menu items on the left side to choose a particular action. First you must load a structure up with the "Open" option. Be patient for the structure to load, it may take a while depending on how busy the server is. Once you have choosen your bridge from the list, you can now use the options below:

About Bridge: Clicking here will bring up a dialog box which displays information about the creator of the structure, such as name, email address, homepage, and comments.

Move Origin: This allows you to change to center-point of the viewing rectangle in relation to the structure (such as to see the ends of a very large structure). Enter the coordinates in the dialogue box that pops up.

Zoom out: clicking here will zoom away from your structure, thus making it appear smaller.

Zoom in: clicking here will zoom into the structure, thus making it appear larger.

Rotate-x: This will allow the structure to rotate along the x-axis in the clockwise or counterclockwise direction.

Rotate-y: This will allow the structure to rotate along the y-axis in the clockwise or counterclockwise direction.

Rotate:z: This will allow the structure to rotate along the z-axis in the clockwise or counterclockwise direction.

We understand that on some systems you may have difficulty running our applets (even if your web-browser is java-capable) depending on OS/Video/memory complications. Hopefully these occasions will be rare, but if it does happen all we can suggest is that you download the most current version of your browser and experiment with it a bit. This seems especially true for the Mac version of Netscape Navigator. Using version 3.0 has solved many problems.
