Nathanael Greene
reene was in charge of the south for the Patriots in the Revolutionary War. Because of his many victories he caused great suffering
for the British. In one occurrence, Greene and his men ran all over the countryside with the British chasing after him.
Of course, Nathanael wasn't retreating but rather tiring the Redcoats out. Eventually, Greene turned on the British and easily won against their tired
army.
- Greene was greatly responsible for the eventual surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown. His brilliant selection of Daniel Morgan to lead his right wing into the Carolina upcountry resulted in the American victory at Cowpens which was immediately followed by Cornwallis chasing Greene's army across the Carolinas which depleted British supplies and their will to fight!
