Rate Yourself With the Skill Level Chart

Level Name Description
Level 1 First Time Skier: First time on skis.
Level 2 Cautious Novice Skier: Skis in a cautious wedge stance, able to stop, turn, and control speed.
Level 3 Comfortable Novice Skier: Makes linked round wedge turns left and right on beginner trails.
Level 4 Improving Novice Skier: Tails of Skis skip parallel. Skis on all beginner trails with confidence.
Level 5 Conservative Intermediate Skier: Skis in a wide stance parallel all the time on easier intermediate trails.
Level 6 True-Blue Intermediate Skier: Skis in narrow parallel stance on smooth intermediate/expert trails. Uses pole plants comfortably.
Level 7 Aggressive Intermediate Skier: Makes rhythmic, open stance, parallel turns with pole plants. Skis moguls with less speed.
Level 8 Advanced Skier: Carves parallel turns with control and confidence on expert trails.
Level 9 Super Skier: Strong parallel skier. Enjoys the challenge of most terrain and conditions.
Level 10 Super Advanced Skier Accomplished Skier. Skis with technique, style, and confidence on all terrain and conditions.


***Use this handy chart to track your progress as you learn new techniques and advance your skill level. You can also use it to determine which slopes are safe, but at the same time challenging enough for your needs. Also, use the levels on the left side to aid in determining your binding retension settings (rental shop staff can set your bindings based on how aggressive of a skier you are).
