Edgar Allen Poe was a great American poet who also wrote many stories. Some of his stories include "The Pit and The Pendulum," and "The Tell-Tale Heart." Most of his poems and stories are horrific and terrifying, probably because he led a very depressing life. Poe mirrored his life in the expressions of his works.
