Roman Food

What the Ancient Romans ate back then might seem a little strange to you. For example they didn't have things like potatoes, tomatoes, or even pasta! They ate things such as linses, beans, bread, and some kinds of meat. For the Romans dinner was the only abundant meal, the rest of the meals were small and simple.

The appearance of the food was as important as how the food tasted to the Romans, so often the foods were garnished with sauces, herbs, and spices. The Romans also didn't use forks to eat, they used their hands instead, so you see, they had to wash their hands very often!
