The Egyptians grew barley, wheat, and durra. Fruits and vegetables like onions, cucumber and melons were also raised. The birds were hunted with a boomerang-like weapon. The wild geese were the goodies for the Egyptians and they were hunted with a net. The men used harpoons to catch crocodiles and hippopotamus from the Nile. In the mountains and forests hunters found mountain goats, gazelles and antelopes. Fish were the food for the poorer people. Egyptian food preparation hasn't changed much from ancient times. All on the menu was taken with the wine or beer.
