Coach Rita Altieri

Ms. Rita Altieri is a teacher of Political Science and Constitutional Studies at Trumbull High School in Trumbull, CT. Additionally, she is the Department Chairwoman of the Social Studies department. On top of all that, Ms. Altieri also is the coach of the nationally-recognized Trumbull High School "We the People" team. "We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution" is a national contest challenging high school students in the areas of Constitutional law and current issues. Sponsored by the Center for Civic Education, the contest is held on district, state, and national levels, and has been held since 1987 (the bicentennial of the Constitution). The team from Trumbull High School has consistently won all of district titles, seven out of ten state titles, and has been in the top ten national teams twice.
