Each year over 500,000 Americans visit
the emergency room with injuries they received while
cycling. Sadly, many, if not most of these injuries could
have been prevented just by taking the necessary precautions
for cycling. In a country where roads are constantly
becoming more congested and Ideally a rider should wear proper clothing, gloves and a helmet; their bike should also "fit" them properly and they should be used to controling it. At a minimum, a rider should wear a helmet. Head injury is the number one cause of death for a rider. So, maybe in your quest to be safer, the helmet is a good place to start. |
