Heavy metal testing
Heavy metal tests help us to see how much ìHeavy metalî (e.g. mercury) is in the river. Heavy metals are bad for the river since they are toxic. If you eat fish that have been in rivers with high levels of heavy metals, then you too might be at risk.
Usually, you cannot test for heavy metals yourself. You might need to take a water sample to a lab with specialized equipment.
