Aim/Purpose:

To make organic and environmetally friendly products for use around home.

Hands (instead of hand washes)
  • Olive oil and lemon or
  • Olive oil and sugar
Use sugar or lemon and olive oil and rub your hands in it and it will take most of the odour and stains out.
Air Freshener
  • Flowers and pot pourri
Place them around the house. Not only do you reduce CFC emmisions and free yourself of cans, you make your home look good too.
Brass
  • cider vineger or lemon juice
Takes most of the stains out.
Drains
  • boiling water
  • baking soda
  • quater cup of vinegar
We can get caustic soda now a days, but they are extremely dangerous.
Carpet
  • bicardonate of soda
Does the job just as well as normal deoderisers

Conclusion:

Your grandma or grandpa used everyday products to clean their homes before we had all those nicely packaged products. Not only are they environmentally friendly, they are also cheap alternatives. Ask your grandma or grandpa what they did or ask me for more solutions. I have a whole page of them! This is just a sample. If you know any other recipies, email them to me.
