Although Singapore is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society, they are many who are ignorant of each other's customs and cultures. In order to create a sense of oneness and to promote integration, there must be a willingness to learn, understand and have mutual respect for one another's culture and customs.

This website is done with the intention of providing additional information covering almost every aspect of personal and social behaviour of the 3 main races in Singapore. We hope to be able to deal with the more practical aspects of their lives in the modern day of Singapore, which cannot be covered previously.

As we are nearing the month of August (which is the seventh month of the Lunar calendar), we have put up a "Special Feature" on "The Hungry Ghost Festival" which is a important festival for the Chinese. The special feature reveal more about "Wayang", a form of ritual practice during the festival. You will be surprised at how interesting this Chinese performing art can be.
