The A.P.E. Search Engine is keyword based, and searches specific areas based on your choices. Checking Oval Office will search the oval office databases. Convention and Gates will search those sections of the site. Finally, you can search the new and archived messages in Threads.

Case Insensitive: It doesn't matter if you use upper- or lower-case for keywords. The A.P.E. Search Engine will find matches in any case.
Boolean AND and OR: Spaces are considered AND. Your search phrase is evaluated by splitting it up into separate phrases at each OR, and then finding all pages that match each phrase's keywords.
Washington AND Bank returns pages with 'washington' and 'bank'
Kennedy OR Election returns pages with either 'kennedy' or 'election'
Washington AND Bank OR Kennedy AND Election returns pages with 'washington' and 'bank', plus pages with 'kennedy' and 'election'
Quotations: Surround keywords with quotation marks to find an exact search.
"wash" returns pages with 'wash', but not those with 'washington'
"George Washington" returns pages with 'george washington' but not those with 'washington george'
