Tyler took the office after the quick death of William Henry Harrison. When he vetoed the new Treasury bill in 1853 he alienated his whole cabinet, and every member effectively resigned.

1842 - Tyler vetoes the bank bill
1842 - Tyler's Cabinet resigns
1842 - Webster-Ashburton Treaty
1845 - Texas is annexed
