Zachary Taylor

Birth-Death: (1784 - 1850 ) Term: (1849-1850 )

President Taylor was quite ready to use force to put down any rebellion against the Union. Although a southerner himself, Taylor put the good of the nation above sectional differences. Taylor tried to use direct means to solve problems, much as he would have headed up a military force.
