Richard Milhous Nixon

When President Nixon came to office, the United States was in a period of turmoil and confusion. U.S. involvement in Vietnam and the changing state of society was moving different portions of the population into different directions. Likewise, Cold War tension was present between the United States and both the Soviet Union and Communist China. Nixon hoped to bring things back together while President.
