Who was John Kennedy ?

    John F. Kennedy was born in Massachusetts. In 1940 he graduated from Harvard College, then joined the Navy. After World War II, he served in the House of Representatives for Boston. In 1955, he wrote Profiles in Courage, for which he was awarded the Pultizer Prize.

    Kennedy won the election because of the Television debates held for the first time during this election campaign. To millions of viewers, his demeanor and personality sparkled. He became the youngest elected President, and the first Roman Catholic President. In 1963, when an assassin's bullet killed Kennedy, he also became the youngest President to die.
