Warren Gamaliel Harding

Birth-Death: (1865 - 1923 ) Term: (1921-1923 )

President Harding stated that there should be "less government in business and more business in government." When the postwar depression began to lessen during the mid-1920s, many agreed that this promise was kept. Harding moved into the Presidency and immediately began to remove the governmental control that had been necessary during the war, and establishing a return to conditions prior to the war.
