Calvin Coolidge

President Coolidge was determined to maintain the status quo and bring back to America the roots of traditional moral values. His apparent success lay in his position of non-interference with almost everything. He preferred to let the nation move along its own course, while using his power as President to ensure that Government did not try to switch tracks on a train that was moving along okay.

Domestic Events of Calvin Coolidge

    There were no major domestic events that occurred during Coolidge's administration. The nation was getting over the corruption in government uncovered after Harding's death. The Teapot Dome scandal and the Elk Hills scandals showed the nation how corrupt some parts of government actually were.
