James Earl Carter, Jr.

Although President Carter's administration took great care in its management of the economy and energy situation in the United States, Carter always championed human rights. Unfortunately, on the global scale, his efforts towards human rights did not reach full fruition. However, after serving his term, he established the Carter Center to promote world peace and human rights.
