1.1 Getting Started

Points- Points are dots in space. They are represented by dots.

Lines- Lines are made up of points. The arrows in the ends represent that they continue forever in both directions. They are named by any two points in the line.

Line Segments- Line segments are made up of points with a definite start and end. Like lines they are straight. A segment is named by its endpoints.

Rays- Rays are made up of points with a one endpoint and it extends itself infinitely in one direction. Rays are named with an endpoint and any other point in the ray.

Angles- Two rays form an angle

Definition-  An angle is made up of two rays with an common endpoint. This point is called the vertex of the angle. The rays are called sides of the angle.

Angles are named with a point on one ray then the name of the vertex and then the point on the another ray. They can also be named with a number or by the name of the vertex.

Triangles- A triangle has three segments as its sides. A triangles is named with its 3 vertices.
A triangle is the union of three angles. The intetsection of any two sides is the vertex of the triangle.
