What has been the biggest challenges you have faced on the job? Developing a unique and novel program of study

How did your interest in this career develop? long story, but was alway interested in science. Experience in undergrad classes was a major motivation for future work
What advice do you have for students interested in your career? lots of study, and some lab work as undergraduate
What science courses do you recommend for high school students planning to enter your career? any and all basic math, physics, chemistry and biology courses

What institution(s) of higher education do you recommend for students pursing your career out of the before mentioned? UCLA, Stanford, UC San Diego, Washington University at St Louis
How is the future projection for jobs in this career? Will there be an increase in demand in the future? Expanding field but is changing rapidly. The classic jobs of tenured prof. will most likely not be available in 10-15 years. Many opportunities in the commercial field in genetics, drugs, medicine etc.
