..One
thing to remember is not to try to make every frame a
masterpiece. Why? Because you will waste a lot of
time and probably won't get the expected results. One
advantage to living in today, is that film is
relatively cheap and cameras can take pictures
quickly (usually in less than a second).
If
your subject is alive, then your in luck! This means
that your subject can move. Even if your subject is
not, you hopefully are, therefore, constantly try new
things by moving to different perspectives, light,
distances, and locations in the frame.
Most
photographers start relatively far away from the
subject, and they move in, circling around the
subject and shooting whenver the light and background
seems to work. This technique is common, but don't be
disappointed if you don't at first succeed.
Depending
on what the purpose of your desired photograph is,
you may want to try different poses or facial
expressions. Also try having your subject partially
cut out of some of the frames. In the example below
notice how the model is constantly trying new
positions and the photographer is moving her
throughout the frame.
Notice the way
the subject is not the only one moving in these pictures. The
photographer is also moving. Starting further away, and
ending up relatively close towards the end.
